Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was also a former professional cricketer has won the global sport award “Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award” in Dubai. The award has been presented to him due to his contribution in sports and encouraging the youth.

The MBR Creative Sports Awards took place on Monday next to the “Deep Dive Dubai”, the world’s deepest pool. This was the 11th edition of the award ceremony and there were many notable personalities present such as Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammad, the chairman of Dubai Sports Council. For the category of “International Sports Personality” the name of Prime Minister Imran Khan was chosen for dedicating his life to sports.

The biggest highlight of his career was when he captained Pakistan to win their first and the only Cricket World cup. This achievement was particularly highlighted.

Moaza Al Marri, Secretary General of MBR Creative Sports Award, praised the achievements of Imran Khan, he also proudly conveyed that the former Pakistan cricket team captain inspired the youth and “we are really proud of his remarkable contribution to the society”. He added “Imran Khan continues to inspire young people as Prime Minister now, enhancing the status of sports in general and cricket in particular, and empowering Pakistani society through sports”.

Back in 2019, Imran Khan successfully launched a $639 million initiative for the future of Pakistan’s youth, under this program young men and women would be offered scholarship and skill-development courses, including opportunities in sports. All of this was also shown during a small documentary played during the award ceremony.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is yet to receive the award, for which he has been invited to the award ceremony being held at Dubai Expo on January 9th of 2022 next year.
