The Sindh police has been asked to conduct special seminars encouraging women’s recruitment in the police force by The Standing Committee of the Sindh Assembly on Home Department.

MPA Faryal Talpur chaired the standing committee meeting held at the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday. She stressed the need for recruiting police women from urban and rural areas and said this would greatly assist investigations involving cases of rape or abuse as many women would be more comfortable discussing sensitive personal information with a female officer.

The standing committee chairperson also asked the police authorities to take stern action against police personnel and other criminals involved in the sale of narcotics, Gutka, Mawa, and other contraband.
