An online musical evening was held at the Lahore Arts Council (LAC) on Tuesday with singer Abdur Rauf.

The singer sang many popular songs and ghazals such as ‘Koo ba koo phail gaie baat shanasai ki,’ and ‘Maie ni mein kinu akhaan.’

The LAC has introduced a series of online programmes to promote traditional Pakistani music and has so far invited Hamid Ali Khan, Tarranum Naz, Anwar Rafi, and Saman Sheikh to perform in the online musical evenings.

Meanwhile, officials announced that the dates for the much-awaited theatre festival at the arts council are yet to be finalized, but said that the festival will be held in the second week of November. Professional and amateur theatre groups including Ajoka and Azad are expected to participate.

The council is also planning to hold a week-long festival in which workshops on various theatrical aspects would take place.
