The popular photo and video sharing social media platform Instagram has announced a new feature called Collabs, which will allows users to collaborate with each other on Feed Posts and Reels.
The feature will allow two users to co-author a post or Reel and share likes. The shared post or Reel will appear jointly to each user’s followers and will share the same comment thread, views and even likes.
“We are launching Collabs, a new way to co-author Feed posts and Reels. Invite an account to be a collaborator. Both names will appear on header, share to both sets of followers, live on both profile grids, share views, likes and comments,” the company said in a tweet.

Instagram said that collaborating is a huge part of how people connect on the social media platform. “With ‘Collab’, you can invite a collaborator to your Feed Post and Reels and so they can share the content with their followers,” the company noted.
The platform is also introducing the ability for users to post photos and videos from desktop browsers. Meanwhile, there are also a pair of new music-focused features coming to Reels on Thursday. Superbeat adds effects to a video to the beat of a song, while Dynamic and 3D lyrics offer a more interesting way to display song lyrics during a video.
