The trailer for Abu Aleeha’s new film Udham Patakh, a zombie parody, showcases the sort of quick-witted social commentary that is typical of the genre (yes, there is also a TikTok loving zombie). The comedy horror is a breath of fresh air in the Pakistani film industry that is saturated with romantic comedies.

Expressing his excitement, actor Faizan Sheikh said, “This film is something very different and experimental and I believe it is a brave step to make a film like this, especially during Covid-19 times as reopening of cinemas is still uncertain”

“I have always loved watching horror comedy films and the fact that my first film ever is one of the first ever Pakistani horror comedies film is really exciting. The whole cast and crew have worked really hard to add life and color to the film,” added HiraUmer.

The movie is scheduled for release on Eid (21 July) when cinemas are expected to open.
