A month-long summer camp for kids aged 5 to 12 years has been organized by the Islamabad police at the Police Line Headquarters.
At the camp’s opening ceremony last Monday, Islamabad’s Police Chief, Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman said the camp has been held every year since 2002 to bolster police-community relationships.
The summer course will offer lessons in swimming, horse riding, martial arts, gymnastics, music, archery by trained male and female instructors. Moreover, children will be provided a free pick and drop facility to ensure maximum participation.
Speaking to a private news channel, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Muhammad Omer Khan said students will be taught the importance of observing traffic laws and will also be instructed in the art of self defence.

He added that the summer camp instructors were fully vaccinated against covid-19 and all prevention guidelines will be strictly followed during camp hours. The summer camp has been divided into a morning and evening shift.
