WhatsApp has disabled the waveform voice messages design feature it launched in its beta mobile app for Android users, a few days back.
The new update, which was only available to beta users, had replaced the typical line in the voice message bubble with a waveform. However, the new design received quite a negative feedback from the users, who complained that the waves make it difficult to navigate the bar of the voice message.
The users felt that the interface was nice, due to the presence of seek bar, navigating through the voice message was not possible.
Moreover, the users also complained that the color of the voice waveform wasn’t visible in dark mode.
After receiving this feedback from the select users, the company decided to temporarily remove the feature update from the mobile app.
Meanwhile, WABetaInfo has reported that the company still plans on releasing the feature to its users again after sometime, after making the necessary fixes.
The WhatsApp beta update was available for Android 18.104.22.168.
Meanwhile, Facebook has announced that the company will soon be rolling out Shops on WhatsApp. The feature is aimed at providing users with a more individualized shopping experience based on their individual shopping habits.
Other prominent features coming to WhatsApp include multi-device support, WhatsApp logout, Instagram Reels, among others.
