The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly has released its fiscal budget for the financial year 2021-22. In the budget it has been announced that the fee for registering a new car has been slashed to Rs1.
As per the new budget announcement, all vehicles with engine capacities ranging between 600cc to 4000cc will have the same fee for registration in the province.
The provincial budget 2021-22 unveiled by the KP Finance Minister, Taimur Khan Jhagra unveiled had a total outlay of PKR1.118 trillion.
On the other hand, the provincial government has made a record increase of more than 37 per cent in the salaries and allowances of government employees.
Taking to Twitter after presenting the budget in the provincial legislature, Jhagra said, “Pakhtunkhwa has fulfilled its promise with the Government employees; a record increase of more than 37 per cent in pay and allowances, while also providing a handsome housing allowance in line with Imran Khan’s vision of housing for all.”
As per the budgetary document, all government employees will received a 10 per cent ad-hoc relief allowance, 20 per cent increase in functional or sectoral allowance (for those who are not drawing any special allowance), and 75 minimum increase in housing allowance.
