Improving the display of sent images and videos inside a chat, WhatsApp has increased the size of video and image previews for users to have a clear view of the media in a message thread.

The new update started rolling out to iOS users last month and now all users, even the Android ones can see the change in their mobile application. The larger media previews give a better view of all the content shared inside chats.

The announcement for the rollout of this new feature was made by the company through Twitter. The post from WhatsApp reads, “Photos and videos in WhatsApp are now even bigger, so no one will be left out of the picture! That’s the perfect reason to smile”.

The video shared by the company gives the glimpse of how send media will be appearing in users’ chats. The photo preview seems to be much bigger than the small, square-shaped preview that appeared on the previous version of the app.

The tweet, however, does not offer details about the platforms on which the feature is being rollout out, hinting that this has been enabled across all platforms that WhatsApp is available on.

WhatsApp for iOS users started getting this feature with version 2.21.71. Other users will soon be getting this feature as well, and Android users can update the app to the latest version and try to send any media to see the changes.
