Soon after the launch of Proton Saga in Pakistan, the Malaysian automotive brand, Proton has announced that they have achieved a new milestone of selling 1,000 car units in Lahore.

Though the Saga variant of the brand was launched in Pakistan last month, the Malaysian brand made entry into Pakistan with a luxury SUV, the Proton X70.

The company through its social media account posted the celebratory picture, and shared by the news of the 100 car sales milestone, and called the achievement as a “momentous breakthrough”.

Both vehicles introduced by the company are available at affordable prices in Pakistan, compared to all other automobile brands present in the country. The Proton Saga vehicle received massive praise in the country due to above average features and affordable price range.

The saga vehicle is in direct competition with the already available Suzuki Cultus and KIA Picanto in Pakistan, who are offering their cars at almost the same price but lag in features, especially the boot space.

It is important to mention here that selling 1,000 cars means that Proton has received 1,000 bookings. The deliveries of these cars are still in the pipeline.

However, reports from a reliable Malaysian automotive news website paultan.org reveal that the company is facing a hard in keeping up with the demand for its cars in Pakistan and that the company has a long waiting list for the delivery of booked cars.

The company has a Greenfield status under the Automotive Development Policy (ADP 2016–2021), and their local partner in Pakistan is Al-Haj Group, which will start the local assembly of Proton cars by June 2021.

The local production of both variants will surely help them keep up with the demand of their vehicles.
