Despite all the backlash and the loss of massive number of users WhatsApp is still going to force users to accept its new terms even if they feel their privacy is being compromised. The company has made a new announcement in which it has informed its users that those not accepting its updated terms and conditions by May 15, will be unable to receive or send messages.
This is not all, the account of such users will be listed as “inactive”, and all inactive accounts can be deleted after 120 days, said the messaging company in the latest blog.
Meanwhile, calls and notifications will still function for a short period of time, however, TechCrunch reported, that this will probably last only a “few weeks”.
The company already shares some information with Facebook, which include the user’s IP address and purchases made through the platform. However, this is not the case in Europe and the UK, where different privacy laws exist.
The company will start reminding users to review and accept updates to keep using the messaging platform.
